Barry Winslow

A Home Filled With Encouragement

Barry remembers growing up in a loving family with his mother, father, and brother. Spending time together mattered, and his mother’s encouragement helped him pursue music, learn guitar, and sing.

The Royal Guardsmen

A Life in Music

In the mid-1960s, Barry joined a garage band called The Royal Guardsmen. The band went on to record “Snoopy vs. the Red Baron” and “Snoopy’s Christmas,” among other songs.

Looking back on that chapter, Barry describes it as an incredible ride. “Snoopy’s Christmas” remains a personal favorite—a connection to the season that would later find another home in his writing.

From a Song to a New Chapter

After his years with The Royal Guardsmen, Barry continued writing music. His song “I.L.O.V.E.Y.O.U.” became part of J. Aaron Brown’s children’s project A Child’s Gift of Lullaby’s, bringing his songwriting into the world of children and family listening.

Later came his album Transition. Barry describes its songs as testimonies reflecting his life and his gratitude for changes that made it better.

He hadn’t imagined that this part of his musical life would eventually lead him toward writing a children’s book.

Bringing Families Together, One Story at a Time

Now, Barry’s creative journey continues through the adventures of three young friends: Barry, Valon, and Shala. Their story brings Christmas and a journey beyond Earth together in a book for families to share.

His hope is simple: to create moments of connection through reading together, just as music has brought people together throughout his life.
